Jayanta Kumar Ghosh, the professor at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee in the Department of Civil Engineering was recently awarded the Lifetime achievement award for his work in the field of GIS. Ghosh was conferred with Excellence in National Geospatial Award for Excellence – 2017 at the Space Application Centre in Ahmedabad. The Award was conferred by The Indian Society for Remote Sensing and it included Rs.1 lakh, a citation, and a medal.
