Doordarshan India, DD News invites applications for the post of Senior Correspondent purely on a contractual basis, as a measure to give mid-career journalists opportunities to work with India's public broadcaster in strategic regional locations. Vacancies are open in Varanasi and Panjim (Goa), two critical centers of cultural, political, and socio-economic activity where demands for on-ground reporting are strong.

These are contractual positions, and remuneration will range from ₹ 80,000 - ₹ 1,25,000 per month, depending on experience and suitability. The broadcaster requires professionals with experience in field reporting and editorial skills according to its own eligibility framework.

Eligibility Criteria

The following are the requirements for the candidates applying for the positions of Senior Correspondent.

  • A degree or diploma in Mass Communication from a recognized institution.
  • At least five years of relevant professional work experience in journalism. Previous experience in field reporting, broadcast news, or multimedia storytelling is preferred.
  • Strong command over English and Hindi. Proficiency in the regional language is a must for the Panjim posting.
  • Must be below 45 years old.
