Want to intern with the World Bank? Apply for its paid internship in US

The World Bank Group has revealed that they are open to receiving applications for WBG Pioneers, their top internship programme for undergraduates and postgraduates students globally.

By means of this programme, young professionals get the opportunity to make a positive impact on the world’s development through the provision of a mix of structured learning, practical work experience and a close exposure to the World Bank Group’s work and mission.

WBG Pioneers places great emphasis on harmonizing academic learning with practical application. Interns are involved in projects that make a difference, they interact with professionals who are well experienced and get first hand knowledge on how one of the world’s most powerful development institutions is operated.

The programme is tailored for those students who are willing to upgrade their skills, understand deeply the complexities of international development, and participate in multi sector works that create a great impact.

Applications for the 2026 WBG Pioneers cohort will be available on the website from 19th January 2026 to 17th February 2026.

The chosen interns will get great exposure by working with teams that are responsible for various operational and support functions. This is a direct reflection of the diverse array of activities exploited by the World Bank Group.

WHO CAN APPLY

Final year undergraduate students submitting applications through the Undergraduate Track. Graduate students working towards a master’s degree or Ph.D. through the Postgraduate Track. Candidates with 0 to 6 years of professional experiences. Applicants with strong computing and technical skills are preferred

HOW TO APPLY

• Upload a Curriculum Vitae, Statement of Interest and Proof of Enrolment or Transcript

• Transcripts must clearly show final-year status or postgraduate enrolment

• Applications cannot be edited after submission

Applicants should expect to hear if they have been selected for an interview by March 2026. The final decision of the selections will also be announced in March. The WBG Pioneers 2026 group will start in April 2026, with the internship running until September, and start dates being spread throughout this period.
