In a tragic incident at PES University's Electronic City campus in Bengaluru South, a third-year engineering student allegedly took his own life on Tuesday, May 14. The student, identified as 21-year-old C Rahul from Ballari, reportedly jumped from the fourth floor of a college building after being denied entry to an examination hall for arriving late.

Rahul, who lived with his mother while his father works abroad, was supposed to write his first paper for the sixth-semester exams. Additionally, there were claims that he had been informed he would not be allowed to participate in campus placements.

The incident occurred around 10.30 am, according to DCP (Southeast) CK Baba. Authorities have registered a case of unnatural death and are conducting further investigations.

The college administration provided further context, noting that Rahul lived four kilometers from the campus. His mother had informed the college that he left home around 7.30 am for his 8.30 am exam, suggesting there was no apparent reason for him to be late. They also mentioned that Rahul had been performing well academically.
