SR University is hosting a three-day immersive workshop on “ROS 2 & AI-Enabled Robotics” from 7 to 9 October 2026, giving students hands-on exposure to robotics, artificial intelligence and autonomous systems.
Organised by the Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with iRobo Automation Pvt. Ltd., the workshop focuses on helping students understand how modern robotic systems are developed and deployed through practical learning and expert mentorship.
The sessions will cover ROS 2 fundamentals and communication, Python robotics, sensors and autonomous systems, machine vision and AI in robotics, SLAM, navigation and path planning. Students will also work towards a capstone demonstration, allowing them to apply concepts covered during the workshop.
The programme is designed around hands-on learning and real-world applications, with students getting an opportunity to move beyond the theoretical understanding of robotics and explore the development of intelligent robotic solutions.
The workshop reflects the growing role of robotics and artificial intelligence in engineering education, particularly as autonomous systems become increasingly relevant across industries.
