On October 10, Silver Oak University will host an expert session on World Mental Health Day 2026, which will convene students to discuss mental health, empathy, lived experiences and the significance of listening and support.
Ms. Minakshi Mishra, Head of Institute of Silver Oak College of Nursing, will be the speaker at the session, the university said in the information. The session will be centered on mental health and the importance of empathy and understanding in making a difference.
The session’s theme is ‘Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change’ and will seek to encourage students to listen to lived experiences and foster a more supportive and inclusive approach to mental health.
It will be held at the C.V. Raman Hall, B Block, Ground Floor, Silver Oak University from 2 pm to 4 pm on October 10, 2026. The programme is for SOU students.
The university’s announcement of the event also highlights that mental health is not just about awareness, but also about listening, understanding and supporting others who might be facing mental health issues.
The session is being coordinated by Ms. Rajvi Patel, Nursing Tutor at Silver Oak College of Nursing.
Silver Oak University’s goal with the event is to give students a chance to hear other people’s thoughts about mental health and the need to build environments where people feel heard and supported.
