Kaveri University to Celebrate Bathukamma and Garba at Gala 2K26 on October 15

Kaveri University is set to host Gala 2K26: Bathukamma and Garba Celebrations on October 15, 2026, to mark the occasion, where they are expected to witness the university community coming together to celebrate this year’s flower festival with music and dance.

As the event poster shows, the celebrations will be held at the university campus from 8:45 am to 6 pm. The programme will showcase Bathukamma festivities and Garba, giving students and university members a chance to come out and join the cultural celebrations.

Bathukamma Celebrations at Kaveri University

Bathukamma is a flower festival unique to Telangana and is mostly celebrated by women, who use seasonal flowers to make vibrant floral patterns and join in singing and celebrating together.

At Kaveri University, the event is set to bring the campus community together to share in the vibrancy of the local culture and tradition. As an academic institution, Kaveri University sees this as an opportunity to come together to acknowledge and appreciate cultural heritage, as well as foster a sense of belonging.

Garba and Cultural Festivities

In addition to the Bathukamma events, the university will see Garba celebrations as well. Garba is a traditional dance form popular in Gujarat that is mostly performed during the Navratri festival.

With both Garba and Bathukamma being part of the larger event, it offers a broader cultural experience for the members of the university community, who can enjoy two unique regional cultural events.

Bathukamma Competition and Prizes

  • First prize: ₹2,000
  • Second prize: ₹1,500
  • Third prize: ₹1,000

The university’s Gala 2K26 event on October 15 is right before the Bathukamma festival that will be held in the campus.

This university event is yet another initiative to bring the student community together to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of their region through local cultural events.
