Aimed at bridging the gap between academia and industry, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has entered into a strategic partnership with Ansys, a global leader in simulation software.

This collaboration is set to empower IIT Roorkee students, equipping them with industry-relevant skills in areas such as simulation, artificial intelligence (AI), and data science, while also promoting entrepreneurship and innovation.

The partnership will offer students hands-on opportunities through joint research projects, internships, and access to Ansys' cutting-edge simulation software and tools. This initiative seeks to enhance the practical knowledge of students, providing them with valuable exposure to real-world engineering challenges.

The partnership will feature several key initiatives aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students. These include collaborative research projects and internships, providing valuable hands-on experience; access to Ansys software and tools, allowing students to work with advanced simulation technologies; entrepreneurship workshops and boot camps designed to nurture entrepreneurial thinking; and mentorship programs that pair students with industry experts to offer guidance and career advice. These efforts are expected to enhance the students' skills and prepare them for real-world challenges in the tech and innovation sectors.

As per a Hindustan Times report, this partnership is expected to further boost IIT Roorkee's thriving startup ecosystem, offering students more opportunities for funding, incubation, and mentorship, which will play a key role in the growth of new ventures and entrepreneurial endeavours on campus.

The collaboration with Ansys marks a major step forward in IIT Roorkee's mission to prepare students for leadership roles in technology and innovation while contributing to the broader ecosystem of Indian startups and industries.
