Indian Army’s Green Initiatives On World Earth Day: Fostering Environmental Sustainability

On World Earth Day, the Indian Army joined hands with the Bishnupur Forest Division and local communities in Manipur to plant over 500 trees across various locations in the region, including Kumbi, Saiton, and Siden in Bishnupur, as well as Churachandpur districts.

 This collaborative effort symbolized a collective commitment to environmental sustainability and underscored the importance of unified action in addressing climate-related challenges. By advocating for the preservation of delicate ecosystems, the Army emphasized the critical role of environmental conservation in ensuring a healthy planet for future generations.

In Kakopathar, Assam, the Army organized a lecture on the theme of World Earth Day for students and teachers at Kakopathar Senior Secondary School. Following the lecture, a plantation drive was conducted in the school premises, reinforcing the message of environmental conservation and instilling a sense of ownership and responsibility among the youth towards their surroundings. These initiatives aimed to raise awareness about the importance of environmental protection and encourage active participation in conservation efforts.
