APG Shimla University to Host Faculty Development Programme from October 13

APG Shimla University will organise a six-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) from October 13 to 18, 2026, at its campus in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. The programme, titled “Teaching–Learning and Research: Practical Applications”, will focus on contemporary teaching methods, research skills and the practical use of academic knowledge. The registration fee is ₹500 per participant, with 50 places available, including internal participants.

The programme will bring together academicians, researchers and professionals to discuss teaching and research in higher education. According to the university’s announcement, six resource persons from APG Shimla University, Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) and the professional sector will contribute to the programme.

What Is the Theme of APG Shimla University’s FDP 2026?

The theme, “Teaching–Learning and Research: Practical Applications”, focuses on the connection between classroom teaching, research and practical learning. The programme is intended to help educators review their teaching practices, strengthen their research capabilities and exchange ideas with professionals from different backgrounds.

The resource persons named on the university’s event poster are Prof. Devinder Sharma, Vice Chancellor of APG Shimla University; Prof. Harish Thakur of HPU Shimla; Prof. Ashwani Sharma, Senior Journalist and Dean of Faculty at APG Shimla University; Prof. Raj Kumar Singh of HPU Shimla; Dr. Mahesh Sharma of HPU Shimla; and Ms. Diksha Sharma, communication and personality coach, psychologist and founder of OneUp Learning.
