Parul University (PU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Innogress to set up Quantum Computing Center of Excellence (CoE), research and development facilities and human resource development initiatives.
The collaboration is part of the Greater Karnavati Quantum Computing Technology Park (GKQCTP) in Gujarat, an ecosystem initiative dedicated to quantum computing and its related technologies. Innogress says the planned technology park will be a research space for development, design, simulation, prototype, testing, manufacturing and skill development of quantum technologies.
The partnership will include over 30 Deep Tech and Quantum Tech startups and companies, academic and R&D institutions, according to Parul University. The broader ecosystem is being nurtured with support from the Government of Gujarat and the Government of India under the National Quantum Mission.
The Centre of Excellence is expected to open new avenues for students to have more exposure to quantum computing, new technologies and industry-related research. The program will give students the chance to work with technology that is increasingly becoming a part of India’s Deep Tech ecosystem, offering them opportunities for hands-on research and industry collaboration, the university said.
The partnership also bridges the university with the broader GKQCTP ecosystem, which is being established around quantum computing and other aspects of quantum technology. The planned park caters to R&D, simulation, prototyping, testing, manufacturing and skilling facilities and activities.
The development could offer an opportunity for students to learn about quantum technologies beyond the classroom, such as research and industry engagement and skill development.
As Gujarat continues to work on the development of quantum and Deep Tech, the MoU brings Parul University into the thriving academic and industry ecosystem at the Greater Karnavati Quantum Computing Technology Park.
