October applications will be accepted for the highly competitive Erasmus Mundus Scholarship 2026/28, one of Europe's biggest fully funded scholarship schemes for international students. Supported by the European Commission, the scheme provides international students from around the world with a chance to study combined Master's degrees at top universities across several European nations.

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's Degree (EMJMD) scheme enables students to study for a degree across three or four countries, and even some courses feature internships. 2,176 students from over 137 nations have been awarded in the 2026 year, illustrating the popularity of the scheme and worldwide appeal.

Unlike most international awards, Erasmus award is completely funded and it doesn't demand GRE scores, professional experience, or having already consulted with professors. Open to students of any age group, students whose GPAs are below 3.0 have also been admitted. An IELTS score—typically 6.5—is recommended, depending on the program.

The candidates should have at least 16 years of studies or in the final year of graduation. The candidates are eligible to apply for a maximum of three courses in the Erasmus catalog, spread across various categories like arts, engineering, law, economics, life sciences, political science, psychology, and so on.

Among the host countries participating are France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, Portugal, and more than 20 others in Europe.

Application period will be from October 2025 through January 2026. Authorities add that a well-written motivation letter, coupled with a simple statement of purpose, can help enhance chances of selection, particularly for those with low GPAs.

Future students can learn more about the latest programs on the EMJMD 2026 Catalogue, updated periodically with new information.
