The Edutainment Awards, held in Mumbai on April 26, 2014, Mudra Institute of Communications Ahmedabad (MICA) emerged as the frontrunner among advertising institutions, marking a significant achievement in the realm of educational excellence. The awards, spanning various disciplines including advertising, film and television, journalism, PR and events, and design, aimed to honour institutions that demonstrated outstanding performance and contribution to their respective fields.
MICA's triumph underscored its commitment to delivering quality education in advertising, earning it the prestigious top honour. Meanwhile, NID Ahmedabad secured the Gold award in the design category, while Asian College of Journalism Chennai clinched the title for best journalism school. Xavier’s Institute of Communication Mumbai received accolades for its excellence in PR and Event Management education, while Whistling Woods International stood out for its exceptional contribution to Film and Television education, bagging the Gold.
MICA's dominance extended beyond advertising, as it also secured the top prize for 'Media' education across all communication disciplines. The evaluation process, overseen by a panel of industry experts chaired by Dr. Bhaskar Das, Group CEO of Zee Media Corporation, meticulously assessed various parameters, including institutional performance over two years, infrastructure, global affiliations, curriculum, alumni network, and industry connections.
These accolades were part of the larger framework of 'The Edutainment Show', an educational fair organized by Event Capital and Laqshya Media, highlighting the pivotal role of education in shaping future professionals across diverse creative industries.
