Govt Engineering College, Buxar, organized a two-day first-year BTech orientation programme on academics, cultural values, and all-around development. Yoga, mental wellness, and motivational addresses by spiritual gurus like Pundrik Shastri Ji Maharaj reflected the fusion of ancient philosophy and recent learning.

The programme was inaugurated by Dean Academics A.K. Tiwari and Principal Ram Naresh Rai, who informed students about the academic architecture and ambience in the college. They stressed how a balance must be brought between class work and co-curricular activities to create well-rounded engineers who could tackle practical issues.

The students were exposed to diverse sessions during the two-day period for study system, placement and training, library facility, and anti-ragging induction. A virtual tour of the campus introduced them to facilities, and yoga, mental health, sports, and cultural club interactive sessions illustrated the importance of physical as well as mental well-being along with studies.

Department heads of departments of studies in computer science, electronics and communication, electrical, civil, and mechanical engineering spoke on the second day regarding their field of study and how students could participate in projects, clubs, and research studies. Departments such as the department of humanities and NSS and NCC departments emphasized teaching students social work and leadership.

There was robust cultural and moral content at the heart of the program. Delegates from Gayatri Parivar, Brahma Kumaris, and ISKCON spoke to students about values, spirituality, and ethical content in education today. The highlight of the convention was an inspiring address by Pundrik Shastri Ji Maharaj (Kashi) on the subject "Ancient education and modern education." His soul-stirring bhajans punctuating his inspiring speech made one think about the necessity to merge ancient and modern knowledge.

The process of induction concluded on a positive note with the students overflowing with positivity for the promising future ahead of them. With the linking of academic orientation with moral and cultural values, Government Engineering College, Buxar tried to instill in its newly inducted batch of students not only technical proficiency, but also direction, belongingness, and identification with the institution.
