The Ernakulam Press Club, Aster Medcity, and the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Kochi are hosting the National Health Journalism Summit on September 20–21 at IMA House, Kaloor. The two-day conference will assemble more than 30 journalists across the nation to discuss pressing health issues as well as the changing role of the media.
The summit will be formally inaugurated on September 20 at 10.30 a.m. by Justice Devan Ramachandran of the Kerala High Court. Ernakulam Press Club president R. Gopakumar will chair the function, while Dr. Nalanda Jayadev, CEO of Aster Medcity, will give the keynote address. MPs Benny Behanan and Hibi Eden, and MLA T. J. Vinod will be the guests of honour.
The inaugural day will witness panel sessions on topics including "Prescribing the Right Dosage," "Second Victim," "Navigating Grey Zones," "Heal in India," "Intersection of AI," and "Learning from Covid." Sessions will be led by experts across health, legal, and media sectors. Toward the end of the day, Padma Bhushan awardee Dr. Jose Chacko Periappuram will present insights into his medical practice in a fireside chat.
On September 21, members will participate in the morning walk, "Healthy Steps at Marine Drive," along with local officials, beginning from Abdul Kalam Marg.
