IIM Sambalpur embraces AI integration in classrooms to lead future of learning

Celebrating its 10th Foundation Day, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur announced a groundbreaking initiative, integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into its academic programs. This marks a significant transformation in the institute’s approach to education as it looks to equip its students with the skills required to succeed in the ever-evolving digital and data-driven business landscape.

Director Mahadeo Jaiswal unveiled the ambitious plans to introduce AI-powered learning platforms, signalling IIM Sambalpur’s commitment to staying at the forefront of management education. By embedding AI into the curriculum, the institute aims to provide its students with cutting-edge tools and knowledge, preparing them to meet the challenges of Industry 4.0.

According to a Hindustan Times report, apart from this initiative, the institute will offer AI-driven courses and foster research collaborations that focus on real-world business applications of AI. Additionally, IIM Sambalpur plans to establish an AI/Analytics lab, providing students with hands-on experience in data analysis and problem-solving. This lab will serve as a platform for students to gain practical insights into AI technologies and their applications in decision-making processes.

The institute also announced the launch of a new Executive MBA program in Digital Business and Analytics. This program is designed for working professionals looking to expand their expertise in digital strategies and AI-driven analytics, positioning them to lead in today’s dynamic business environment.

Moreover, IIM Sambalpur is forging international collaborations with foreign universities through Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). These partnerships will offer students opportunities for global exposure, research collaboration, and learning from international perspectives on AI and business innovation.

The primary objective behind this AI integration is to equip students with the necessary skills for the future. By fostering innovative thinking and enhancing decision-making capabilities through AI-driven data analytics, the institute aims to develop leaders capable of navigating the complexities of the modern business world.
