The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi has once again secured the top position in the Indian Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF) for 2024. According to a press release from IIRF, JNU has maintained its status as the Number 1 central university, a position it held in 2023.
This year's rankings highlight significant progress by the University of Delhi (DU), which has ascended to second place from its previous sixth position. This marks a notable achievement for DU, reflecting its enhanced academic and research performance. Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi has also earned high rankings, showcasing excellence in research, faculty quality, and student outcomes.
In addition to central universities, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru, the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) in New Delhi, and the Homi Bhabha National Institute in Mumbai have been commended for their unwavering academic excellence and substantial contributions to research and education.
Among the top private universities, Ashoka University in Sonipat has ascended to first place, moving up from second last year. The Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT) in Gandhinagar and Shiv Nadar University in Dadri have also been recognized for their comprehensive education, industry ties, and superior technical programs.
