Delhi University Student Union (DUSU) Vice-President Abhi Dahiya has accused DUSU President Tushar Dedha of using a fake marksheet to gain admission to Delhi University. Dahiya complained to DU Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh on Friday, July 6, claiming Dedha presented fraudulent academic credentials.
The complaint, made by a member of the National Students' Union of India (NSUI), asserts that Dedha possesses two Class XII mark sheets from different boards—the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Uttar Pradesh (UP) Board—both dated for the year 2016. Dahiya argues that having two mark sheets for the same academic period violates examination regulations and doubts the authenticity of Dedha’s qualifications.
Dahiya alleges that Dedha used these mark sheets to secure both his undergraduate and postgraduate admissions at Delhi University through dishonest means. The complaint also contends that Dedha submitted false information and affidavits to qualify for the DUSU presidential election. Dahiya has called for Dedha’s election victory to be annulled and for his removal from office, as reported by Edex Live.
In his defence, Dedha has refuted all allegations, claiming no misconduct. He announced plans to sue Dahiya, NSUI National President Varun Choudhary, and the NSUI for defamation. Dedha explained that the Supreme Court permits students to take two exams concurrently. He confirmed he attended both CBSE and UP Board schools in 2016 but clarified that he only used the UP Board marksheet for his admission to Delhi University.
Dedha completed his Bachelor of Arts at Satyawati College in 2019 and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Buddhism at Delhi University. As the issue gains attention, the university administration is expected to conduct a detailed investigation to verify the claims.
