Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a new Bachelor of Arts in Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (BAMSME) through its School of Vocational Education and Training (SOVET), with registration now open for the July 2024 intake.
This program, available via Open and Distance Learning (ODL), targets individuals who have completed their 10+2 education and are interested in entrepreneurship.
The BAMSME course is designed to provide essential training and expertise for launching and managing small businesses. It responds to the rising need for business development, job creation, and economic growth. The course is structured to be completed in a minimum of three years, spread over six semesters, and can be extended up to six years if necessary, as mentioned in a report by NDTV. A total of 120 credits are required for graduation, with each semester offering 20 credits.
The program features:
- Business Management: Instruction in running and sustaining business operations, including Financial and Marketing aspects.
- Leadership Skills: Enhancement of managerial and interpersonal skills for effective leadership and self-empowerment.
