The Ministry of Education has announced an extension for the National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) application deadline for the academic year 2024-25.
The new submission deadline via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) is September 30, 2024. The official notice requests educational institutions inform students and ensure all registrations are completed within this revised timeframe.
To apply for the NMMSS, students must follow these steps:
- Visit the official website: Applications can be made at scholarships.gov.in.
- Complete One-Time Registration (OTR): This process issues a unique 14-digit number based on Aadhaar, streamlining future scholarship applications.
Required documents for the application include:
- Personal Details: Name, gender, date of birth, and parents’ names.
- School Information: Enrollment number.
- Class 10 and 12 Details: If applicable, roll numbers, percentages, and mark sheets.
- Competitive Exam Details: If applicable, include exam names, roll numbers, and years.
- Additional Documents: Ration card, disability ID (if applicable), domicile certificates, and Aadhaar details.
Students facing issues with the OTR process should check their biometric lock status. If the biometric lock is enabled on Aadhaar, it must be unlocked using the mAadhaar app or My Aadhaar web portal before proceeding with the NSP OTR application. For further assistance, students can refer to the official guidance on the NSP website.
