The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) remains a premier choice for MBA aspirants, with the Common Admission Test (CAT) being the key to entering these prestigious institutions.
For the 2024 academic year, registration for CAT, which IIM Calcutta administers, is open until September 13. Prospective students can submit their applications on the official website, iimcat.ac.in.
CAT 2024 opens doors to 21 IIMs across India, where candidates can pursue Post Graduate Programmes in Management (PGP) or Fellow Programmes in Management (FPM). The participating IIMs include:

Post-exam, each IIM will individually shortlist candidates for the next stages, which may include a Writing Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interviews (PI). The criteria for shortlisting will vary between IIMs and may also consider factors such as academic performance, work experience, and diversity.
Candidates must provide necessary documents during the interview, including mark sheets and certificates. Final-year students need a certificate from their institution confirming their eligibility. Provisional admission is possible until the final degree certificate is submitted by December 31, 2025; failure to meet this deadline could result in cancellation of admission.
