To strengthen the education infrastructure in Jharkhand, the state cabinet has approved an ambitious Rs 530 crore package to establish new colleges and polytechnics. The investment marks a significant leap forward for the state's education sector to improve student opportunities and resources across the region.

The approved funds will be channelled towards setting up 12 new polytechnic colleges under the public-private partnership (PPP) model. Jharkhand Infrastructure Development Corporation (JINFRA) has been appointed transaction manager for these projects, ensuring seamless execution. The polytechnic colleges are expected to receive Rs 300 crore out of the total funding.

According to Times Now News reports, the government has earmarked Rs 120 crore for new engineering colleges, which will further boost technical education in the state. To strengthen foundational education, Rs 50 crore has been allocated to create integrated science and mathematics laboratories in elementary schools, ensuring that students at all levels can access modern facilities and learning tools.

The cabinet also approved Rs 20 crore to develop the Jharkhand State Institutional Ranking Framework, a system designed to evaluate and rank educational institutions across the state, promoting quality and accountability.

The comprehensive package is expected to benefit thousands of students, enhancing their learning experience and equipping them with the skills needed to compete in an increasingly globalised world. Adding polytechnic and engineering institutions will also help bridge the gap between education and industry, aligning Jharkhand's workforce with the demands of modern sectors.

This move is part of Jharkhand's broader efforts to uplift its education sector, focusing on accessibility, quality, and modernization. As the projects unfold, Jharkhand is set to emerge as a hub of educational excellence, providing its youth with the tools they need to build a prosperous future.
