Three CRPF-run schools in Delhi and Telangana received a hoax threat email warning of bomb attacks, prompting swift security checks. Official sources reported on Tuesday, October 22, that the email claimed improvised explosive devices would be detonated by 11 a.m. the same day at schools in Rohini and Dwarka, Delhi, as well as Medchal, near Hyderabad.
Despite the alarming nature of the message, the schools continue to function normally, with authorities assuring that all necessary precautions were taken.
The threatening email, received late Monday night, October 21, triggered immediate anti-sabotage measures. Thorough security checks were conducted at all three schools, but nothing suspicious was found. Officials emphasized that despite the hoax, the situation remains controlled, and the schools operate safely.
This incident follows a blast that occurred on Sunday, October 20, near the boundary wall of a CRPF school in Prashant Vihar, Rohini. While the two events have not been officially connected, investigators are looking into potential links as they continue to probe the source of the threatening email.
The hoax email is also being scrutinized for references to political events in Tamil Nadu, which authorities are investigating further. Efforts are underway to trace the origin and creators of the email, with cybersecurity teams involved in the investigation.
The CRPF, India’s largest paramilitary force, manages these schools. It is primarily responsible for handling anti-Naxal operations, counterterrorism efforts in Jammu and Kashmir, and counter-insurgency operations in the Northeast. Despite the threat, officials assured that the safety protocols and quick response mechanisms ensured that the schools' normalcy was maintained.
