The Directorate of Secondary Education, Assam, has officially opened the application process for more than 9,000 teaching positions, including Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) and Post Graduate Teachers (PGT) for high school and intermediate levels.

The recruitment aims to fill 8,004 TGT and 1,385 PGT positions, addressing the growing need for qualified educators in the state. Applicants from the general category must pay an application fee of ₹500, while candidates from the SC, ST, and PWD categories will pay a reduced cost of ₹350. Regarding remuneration, TGT teachers will receive salaries ranging from ₹14,000 to ₹70,000 per month, along with a grade pay of ₹8,700. Meanwhile, PGT teachers can expect salaries between ₹22,000 and ₹97,000, with a grade pay of ₹11,800 per month, reflecting the government's commitment to offering competitive compensation for educational professionals.
