CBSE to roll out new curriculum for 2024-25 academic year

Big changes are on the horizon for grade 3 and 6 students nationwide as the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) gears up to roll out revamped syllabi. Aligned with the recently introduced National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023, these updates are set to shake up the educational landscape. Implementation is slated for the 2024-25 academic session.

NCERT has put up the need for schools to adjust their schedules and disseminate information about recommended time allocations to principals, educators, and parents. With NCERT, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) working hand in hand, supported by the Department of School Education and Literacy to bring the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 to fruition.

Fresh textbooks tailored to the updated syllabi are in the works and will soon be distributed to CBSE-affiliated schools. But it's not just about textbooks—communication is crucial. CBSE has been urged to keep school administrators, teachers, and parents informed about these changes.

NCERT also provides a syllabus bridge program for Grade 6 and concise guidelines for Grade 3, aiming to make the change smooth. This initiative isn't just about introducing new subjects and embracing new teaching methodologies and pedagogical approaches. Activity books and textbooks are being revamped to support these changes to complement the evolving curriculum.

An exclusive AI program for senior professionals has been introduced in a nod to the future. With these updates, the Grade 3 syllabi are getting a contemporary makeover, covering various subjects from arts to physical education.

The goal is to ensure that students adapt smoothly to the new curriculum and are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need for the ever-changing world ahead.
