The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur announces the launch of its eMasters programs for the July 2024 intake. Interested candidates have until March 31 to apply for these programs, which include Climate Finance, Business Finance, Fintech, and Quantitative Finance. Unlike traditional admissions, selection for these programs won't be based on GATE scores, as per IIT Kanpur guidelines.
The institute underscores the relevance of these eMasters programs in meeting the rising demand for skilled finance professionals. Offering flexibility, students can complete their degrees within 1 to 3 years, with the added advantage of an immersive learning format that provides access to IIT Kanpur's incubation cell and alumni network.
Jointly offered by the Department of Management Sciences and the Department of Economic Sciences at IIT Kanpur, these programs are tailored to industry needs and offer opportunities for seamless credit transfers towards higher education pursuits like MTech and PhD programs, with potential credit waivers of up to 60.
Each eMasters program is designed to specialize in specific areas: Financial Technology and Management blend fintech with traditional finance, Quantitative Finance and Risk Management enhance risk management skills, Business Finance covers finance and economics, and Climate Finance and Sustainability focus on carbon management, ESG, and environmental sustainability alongside finance.
Highlighting the growth potential of the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector in India, IIT Kanpur notes projections indicating an increase in sector value from USD 59.66 billion in 2023 to USD 66.61 billion in 2024.
