On Saturday, June 22, the Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth faction of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), organized a protest outside the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) in Hyderabad.

Their primary demand was for the state government to release the 'job calendar,' which would provide details on recruiting 25,000 teaching and other positions, as reported by PTI.

Leading the protest, BJYM President Sevella Mahender spearheaded a dharna outside the TSPSC office. Mahender emphasized the necessity of releasing the job calendar to initiate the recruitment process. He argued that this step is crucial for selecting qualified candidates from the Group-1 preliminary examination, aiming to maintain a selection ratio of 1:100. Furthermore, he urged the government to increase the number of posts in the Group-2 and Group-3 exam notifications and to facilitate the recruitment of 25,000 teachers through the District Selection Committee (DSC) system.

Earlier this year, in February, the Telangana government had already issued a notification for recruiting over 11,000 teachers through the DSC examination system, highlighting the persistent demand for educational employment in the state.

Simultaneously, Hyderabad is witnessing another protest led by the National Students' Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of the Congress party, alongside Left-backed student unions. They are rallying against alleged irregularities in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Undergraduate (NEET-UG) exam. This parallel demonstration highlights the broader dissatisfaction among youth regarding educational and employment opportunities in the city.
