Students at Gulbarga University staged a protest yesterday on campus, accusing university officials of wrongdoing during the recent BEd examinations.
The Post Graduate Student's Association (PGSA) members gathered before the Karyasoudha (Administrative Office) demanding action against specific individuals.
The association alleges that Registrar (Evaluation) Medhavini S Katti, Principal of Al-Badar College Mallamma Manthale, Senior Supervisor of Examination (External) Mounesh Akki, and unnamed others facilitated irregularities.
According to the PGSA, Ms Katti directed 100 students to take the BEd exam at Al-Badar College, a move deemed illegal. They further claim that acting on these instructions, the college principal and staff allowed the students to write the exams, violating established procedures, as reported in Edex Live.
The PGSA, led by President Shivasharana Patil, Vice-President Anaveergouda Biradar, and General Secretary Manthan Khele, submitted a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor outlining their concerns. The memorandum urges the university and government to initiate disciplinary action against all officials involved in the alleged irregularities.
This protest highlights concerns about the integrity of the BEd examination process at Gulbarga University. The university administration has yet to respond to the allegations or the PGSA's demands for an investigation.
