The University of Mumbai’s Centre for Distance and Online Education has announced changes to its exam schedule for the 2024 online and distance learning programs, citing the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections.
According to an official notice posted on October 18, exams initially slated for November 19 and 20 have been rescheduled to November 30 and December 7, respectively. However, the venue and duration for the exams will remain unchanged.
The notice, issued by the university’s administration, highlights the impact of the elections on the examination schedule, stating, “A reference is invited to various examinations of Winter 2024. The Director, Institute of Distance & Open Learning, and the Principals of affiliated Colleges in Arts, Commerce & Management, and Science & Technology are hereby informed that the papers scheduled for November 19 and 20, 2024, have been rescheduled due to the Assembly Elections in Maharashtra and will now be held on the revised date.” As quoted by Hindustan Times.
Extended Deadlines for UG and PG Applications
In addition to the exam rescheduling, the University of Mumbai has extended the deadline for students to apply for undergraduate and postgraduate distance learning courses. The new deadline, which includes the first-year MMS course, has been set for October 30. The Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management admission process has also been extended for the first and second sessions.
