To protect students and citizens from the impending Cyclone Dana, the government has declared a two-day holiday for all schools across coastal regions, according to the reports by Patrika News.

With Cyclone Dana expected to hit landfall in the next 48 hours, authorities are taking no chances to ensure safety, especially for children.

Both government and private schools in vulnerable areas will remain closed as the state braces for the cyclone’s arrival. The decision comes in response to the latest updates from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), which has issued warnings of intense rainfall, dangerous wind speeds, and potential storm surges in several districts.

According to the IMD, Cyclone Dana could bring:

- Torrential downpours across the coastal belt

- Wind speeds reaching up to 120 km/h

- High sea tides with the potential for flooding in low-lying areas

Residents in these areas have been urged to stay indoors, stock up on essentials, and avoid any travel plans until the cyclone passes. The state government is leaving no stone unturned in preparation for the hurricane. Evacuation plans are underway for residents in the most vulnerable areas, with relief camps to house those displaced by the storm. Emergency services, including disaster response teams, medical units, and rescue workers, have been strategically deployed to respond quickly to crises.

As Cyclone Dana approaches, citizens are urged to remain vigilant and follow official updates. The government has requested people to stay tuned to local weather reports and emergency announcements. For now, the state remains on high alert, and while schools are closed, safety precautions are in full swing to protect the public from the cyclone’s anticipated fury.
