It's a paid internship. The pay for the Summer 2026 program is $30,795 – $44,786 a year (GS-5 pay scale), depending on education level.

GS-5 Pay: Interns who have a bachelor's degree and are pursuing a full-time graduate program.

GS-4 Pay: All other full-time students, including:

Dual-enrollment students

Undergraduate students taking a graduate course.

The FBI accepts candidates from a broad spectrum of academic disciplines, including, but not limited to, accounting, foreign languages, information technology, criminal justice, journalism, law, and all STEM disciplines.

Eligibility Criteria

Be a U.S. citizen.

Attend a U.S.-accredited college or university full-time as an undergraduate, graduate, or post-doctoral student.

Failure to graduate prior to the program commencement date, unless taking continuing education during the subsequent semester.

Possess and continue a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher:
