Malta Government Endeavour Scholarship 2025/26 for Master's and PhD Programmes

The Malta Government has now opened the call to apply for the Malta Government Endeavour Scholarship 2025/26 which offers the opportunity of postgraduate study for Maltese and foreign students in priority areas for socio-economic development of the country. The scholarship is the contribution of the government to talent and innovation and aligns with national education priorities.

European Union-funded, the scholarship is grantable for Master's (MQF Level 7) and PhD (MQF Level 8) studies. It is for young academics and working professionals through payments of tuition fees, technical fees, potential allowances, and a Study Abroad Allowance (SAA) subject to availability. The scholarship is grantable for European and non-EU citizens.

Endeavour Scholarship is targeting high-demand fields, and the fields of study that are covered are as follows:

Environmental Studies and Sustainability

Finance

Health

Information and Communication Technology

Management

Maritime Studies

Science, technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)

Tourism and Hospitality

Transport and Logistics

Veterinary Science

Students can choose up to five institutions or courses for which they consider most suitable, including courses offered by Maltese universities and accredited online learning providers.

Principal Eligibility Criteria

EU and non-EU citizens.

Applicants ought not to already hold a qualification at the same level of MQF that they are seeking to apply for.

Individuals with a Master's may apply for a PhD but not for another Master's or sub-postgraduate qualification.

Students who are already pursuing a PhD or equivalent-program may not apply.

The scholarship is consistent with the Maltese government's presumption that postgraduate study is among the pillars of national social and economic development.
