Hubballi Schoolboy Attacked For Talking to Girl, Four Detained

Authorities are taking steps to prevent similar incidents. The Police Commissioner has directed all schools and colleges in Hubballi and Dharwad to install CCTV cameras and report any untoward activities immediately. 

A schoolboy in Hubballi, Karnataka, was attacked by a group of five to six students over talking to a girl at school. The incident, caught on video and shared widely on social media, has sparked concern among schools, colleges, and parents.

Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar confirmed the attack and said an investigation is underway. The attackers, identified as students from different schools and colleges, have been booked. Four minors face charges under the Juvenile Justice Act, while a 19-year-old nursing college student is being processed under regular law.

Additionally, meetings were held with the accused's students, principals, and parents, emphasizing the importance of responsible behaviour.

The attack, a result of an argument between the victim and the group, has left parents and teachers worried. The victim, who sustained injuries during the assault, is recovering.
