The latest arrest, identified as Nanjunethappa G, is linked to a case in Latur, Maharashtra, previously handled by the Maharashtra Police. According to officials, G is suspected of being involved in a scheme where two government school teachers in Latur allegedly demanded over Rs. 5 lakh from NEET-UG aspirants in exchange for guaranteeing their success in the exam.
This arrest broadens the scope of the CBI's investigation, which now encompasses multiple states and various forms of malpractice.
