The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced a crucial update regarding NEET PG 2024. Starting today, July 19, candidates must reselect their preferred test cities via a portal on the official website, natboard.edu.in.

This re-selection is necessary because the previously issued admit cards, which included the exam cities and centres, are now invalid. The window for making these selections will remain open until July 22.

According to NBEMS, new admit cards will be issued on August 8, and candidates will be notified of their test city allocations via their registered email IDs by July 29. The NEET PG 2024 examination, initially scheduled for June 23, has been rescheduled to August 11. Despite this change, the cut-off date for eligibility to appear in the exam remains August 15, 2024.

Candidates are required to provide four preferred test cities in their application forms. The official notification clarifies that if the number of available test cities in a candidate's state or union territory is fewer than four or if the demand for testing seats exceeds the available capacity, candidates can choose from nearby states or UTs.

The allocation of test cities will be done randomly from the provided choices without considering an order of preference. Suppose allocating a test centre in any of the four preferred cities is impossible due to overcapacity or logistical issues. In that case, candidates will be assigned a centre in the nearest available location within their correspondence or nearby states/UTs. Candidates who do not select their preferences during the online window will have a test centre assigned by NBEMS anywhere in the country.
