This delay contrasts sharply with the schedule the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) set, which completed the first round of All India counselling from July 1 to July 17. The second round is expected to start on July 22 and end on August 7, with the deadline for choice filling set for July 28.
Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences (YSRUHS) in Andhra Pradesh and Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) in Telangana have yet to begin the registration process or release the necessary seat matrices and merit lists. The state counselling sessions, which were supposed to run from July 10 to July 20, have not started, leaving students uncertain about their admission prospects.
This delay follows an already extended period since the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) MDS results were released in April, adding to the candidates’ frustration. The situation risks causing substantial financial losses and increasing stress among the students.
One student from Hyderabad, who secured a seat in Jamnagar through the All India counselling, is hesitant to relocate due to the lack of state counselling. Another candidate from Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, risks losing a substantial security deposit if the state counselling does not proceed soon.
Students have also pointed out the stark difference in fees between government and private colleges, with government colleges charging around Rs 3.5 lakh per year compared to approximately Rs 12 lakh at private institutions. Despite repeated efforts to reach the universities, no official updates have been provided.
The official website of KNRUHS indicates that admission rules are being reviewed due to the completion of ten years since Telangana's formation, contributing to the delay. Meanwhile, Dr. YSR University has not yet issued any official statements regarding the admission process.
