Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that Agniveers, the young recruits under the Agnipath scheme, will be preferred for positions in the UP Police and Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) once their service is completed.

Adityanath made this statement while addressing the media at his official residence before departing for a NITI Aayog meeting in Delhi.

Adityanath emphasized that Agniveers will return as well-trained and disciplined individuals, benefiting the country. He noted the enthusiasm among the youth for the Agnipath Yojana and outlined plans for their future integration into paramilitary and civil police roles.

The Chief Minister assured that as the Agniveer scheme progresses and these individuals return from their service, the Uttar Pradesh government will provide them with facilities and added weightage for their integration into the state police and PAC. He underscored the government's commitment to utilizing the skills and discipline of Agniveers in state security forces, as mentioned in a report by News 18.

Adityanath also criticized opposition parties for allegedly obstructing progress and spreading misinformation about the Agniveer scheme. He highlighted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, India has emerged as the world’s fifth-largest economy, with significant reforms in various sectors over the past decade.

He reiterated that ongoing reforms are crucial for national progress and prosperity and praised the transformative changes that have elevated India's economic standing and modernized its military capabilities.
