Delhi University has established stringent consequences for those found guilty of ragging. Offenders may face severe penalties such as suspension, expulsion, and even cancellation of their degrees, emphasising the university's zero-tolerance stance on such behaviour.
Joint control rooms will be set up at both the North and South campuses to address and manage complaints effectively. These centres will provide immediate assistance and facilitate swift action against incidents of ragging.
As per India Education Diary reports, the university will observe Anti-Ragging Day on August 12, 2024, followed by an Anti-Ragging Week from August 12 to 18. This initiative aims to raise awareness about the issue and reinforce the university's commitment to a safe campus environment.
Police pickets will be stationed outside every college, with additional provisions for women’s colleges to ensure heightened security. Furthermore, plainclothes women police personnel will be deployed outside the university and each college campus to offer discreet support and deterrence.
Anti-ragging posters in both English and Hindi will be prominently displayed at strategic locations across the university. These posters will inform students about the anti-ragging policies and the resources available to them.
The university has established multiple channels for reporting ragging incidents. This includes the UGC Anti-Ragging Helpline, an anti-ragging web portal, and local police contacts designed to ensure students have accessible and confidential avenues for reporting issues.
Each college, faculty, department, and hostel will have its Anti-Ragging/Disciplinary Committee and Vigilance Squad. These bodies will monitor compliance with anti-ragging policies and address any concerns.
