Experts discussed the impact of technology on education, featuring Dr. Kalpana Johari from CDAC, Dr. Pratapsinh Desai of the Indian Society of Technical Education, Atul Tripathi of Tech Mahindra, and Anirudh Kumar from the Ministry of Electronics & IT.

The Times of India's flagship program, the Right to Excellence Education Summit, held on Saturday, highlighted the intersection of education and technology in a panel discussion titled "Embracing Digital Transformation: Innovating Teaching and Learning in the Tech Age."

Experts discussed the impact of technology on education, featuring Dr. Kalpana Johari from CDAC, Dr. Pratapsinh Desai of the Indian Society of Technical Education, Atul Tripathi of Tech Mahindra, and Anirudh Kumar from the Ministry of Electronics & IT.

Dr Johari emphasized the role of digital transformation in sustaining education during crises like COVID-19, particularly in India. She highlighted initiatives such as Digital India, which have ensured educational continuity and skill acquisition.

Dr. Desai focused on the challenges of accessibility and resource abundance. He stressed integrating technology, pedagogy, and skill development to enhance educational outcomes, sharing an inspiring story of a woman from the Western Ghats who overcame network issues to pass the UPSC exam.

Atul Tripathi discussed the swift transition to online learning and maintaining student attention in digital environments. He noted the challenges of distractions and the need for focused attention in learning.

Anirudh Kumar addressed the necessity of stable internet connectivity and the importance of training educators to use digital tools effectively. He noted that over 1,600 institutions are now digitally enabled, thanks to government recognition of the importance of digital transformation.

Responding to concerns about AI taking over jobs, Dr Johari highlighted the need for continuous skill upgrading and lifelong learning to ensure job security in an AI-driven world.
