The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has introduced the 2024 State Talent Search Examination (STSE) to spotlight and nurture promising students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

This initiative, conducted in partnership with the Performance Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development (PARAKH) and the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), aims to strengthen the STEM foundation for Class IX students.

The STSE will be administered in two phases: district and state exams. The district-level assessments are scheduled for September 10, 2024, with successful students progressing to the state-level test in October 2024. During the state-level examination, participants will undertake a project addressing community issues, highlighting their applied STEM skills.

Schools are required to report 50% of their Class IX enrolment figures to the NBSE by August 27, 2024. They must complete registration through the board's official website, nbsenl.edu.in.

Student representation will be determined by district size: districts with up to 20 schools will send three students, districts with up to 50 schools will send five, and districts with more than 50 will send seven students. Winners at the state level will receive monetary awards and certificates, while all participants will be given certificates of participation, as reported by News 18.

The STSE aims to inspire and support the next generation of STEM professionals, providing them with essential opportunities to advance their skills and contribute to technological progress in the region. For additional information, visit the NBSE website.
