Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini marked Independence Day with a major announcement, revealing plans to fill 36,000 government vacancies shortly, in addition to the 1.44 lakh jobs already filled under his administration. Addressing the public from Ambala, Saini underscored the state's dedication to advancing women's economic and educational prospects while ensuring their safety.
During his speech, Saini highlighted several key achievements. The state has secured jobs for 1.20 lakh employees through outsourcing services and the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam. On the education front, Haryana has established 76 new colleges, including 32 for women, and provides free postgraduate education for girls. Furthermore, 5,105 female students studying abroad have been awarded ₹20.28 crore in loans with a five percent interest subsidy.
To enhance women’s economic opportunities, Saini announced that one-third of ration depots will be managed by women and set a target of creating 62,000 'Lakhpati Didis' through training programs. Additionally, Haryana will offer a 10% reservation for Agniveers in government recruitments and has increased pensions for freedom fighters to ₹40,000 per month.
Highlighting Haryana’s economic contributions, Saini noted the state’s significant role in the central food grain stock and the automobile industry. He also announced the development of 20 new national highways, with nine already completed, supported by a ₹40,000 crore investment over the past decade.
Saini also celebrated Haryana’s sports achievements, noting that Haryana athletes secured four out of six medals won by India at the Paris Olympics. He reaffirmed the state’s commitment to developing world-class sports infrastructure to support future athletes.
