Delhi Education Minister Atishi inspected an under-construction school in Narela on Friday, emphasizing its significance as a symbol of the city's commitment to delivering "world-class education" to every child, regardless of their economic status.
Speaking at the site in Kheda village, Atishi pointed to the school's state-of-the-art facilities as evidence of the Delhi government's dedication to transforming the educational landscape.
Before Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's tenure, Delhi government schools were deplorable, with students forced to study in dilapidated buildings, Atishi remarked. She highlighted the new four-storey school as a flagship project featuring 72 intelligent classrooms, 11 advanced laboratories, a central library, and a multipurpose hall with a 250-student capacity. Additionally, the school will include a lift and other modern amenities to ensure accessibility for all students.
Atishi also touched on the current political situation, noting that despite Kejriwal's incarceration in what she described as a "false case," his vision for educational reform in India remains unwavering. "We are committed to fulfilling his vision by providing top-notch education to every child, particularly those from the poorest families," she quoted by India Today. Atishi reiterated the government's commitment to prioritizing education, particularly for children from the poorest backgrounds, and vowed to continue advancing Kejriwal's educational vision.
