NIT Manipur rises in NIRF Rankings, establishes itself among India’s premier engineering colleges

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Manipur has made significant strides in the NIRF Rankings 2024, establishing itself as one of India’s leading engineering institutions. The institute climbed an impressive 20 places in the engineering category, securing the 74th position, marking a significant milestone in its academic journey.

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), which evaluates Indian institutions on multiple parameters such as teaching quality, research output, and placements, released its latest rankings yesterday. NIT Manipur's advancement highlights the institute's relentless pursuit of excellence. 

In addition to its rise in the engineering category, NIT Manipur also saw a notable improvement in its overall ranking, moving from 204th to 184th- reports Indian Express. This achievement underscores the institution’s holistic growth and focuses on improving educational standards and infrastructure.

Dr. G. Totok, Director of NIT Manipur, expressed excitement over the institute's ranking leap. The institute's outstanding placement record is a significant contributor to this rise, with over 90% of students securing placements in top companies. NIT Manipur has built a reputation for delivering industry-ready graduates, enhancing its desirability among aspiring engineers. This strong placement record and the institute's rigorous academic environment have further solidified its standing among India’s top engineering institutions.

NIT Manipur offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, with admissions based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores, attracting some of the brightest students from across the country. The institute's growth in the rankings is seen as a reflection of its enhanced research output, high-caliber faculty, and industry-relevant curriculum.
