The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) will organize the Nano Electronics Roadshow and Conference on the Semiconductor Ecosystem in India on 27 March 2025 at the National Science Seminar Complex, IISc Bengaluru. The conference, organized by MeitY's Nanotechnology Initiatives Division along with top academic institutions, will gather the major stakeholders from government, industry, academia, and the startup ecosystem to promote innovation in the semiconductor industry.

The conference will be used as a forum to address innovation in quantum technology, neuromorphic computing, artificial intelligence, information technology, and native nanoelectronics. It is likely to provide a forum for interaction between researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders, promoting collaboration and investment in India's semiconductor sector.

  • Krishnan, Secretary, MeitY, will be present as the Chief Guest, along with other distinguished speakers, including:
  • Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary, MeitY
  • Dr Shivkumar Kalyanaraman, CEO, Anusandhan National Research Foundation
  • Utpal Shah, Senior VP, Strategy and Business Development, Tata Electronics
  • Anand Ramamoorthy, Managing Director, Micron
  • Narayanan, Chair, ISRO

Opportunities for Startups and Investors

One of the major highlights of the event is its focus on startup participation and venture capital involvement. "The Nanotechnology Roadshow is a very critical part of India's pathway towards semiconductor self-sufficiency in the years to come," said S. Krishnan, Secretary, MeitY.

He further added, "MeitY had encouraged Nano Science Centres in six IITs and the Indian Institute of Science in the country so that we have a pool of dedicated scientists, technologists, and professionals in the semiconductor domain developed over the years. Nearly 50 technology demonstrations are being conducted, 25 deep-tech startups are attending who are specifically engaged in the Nano Electronics domain, and 25 Venture Capitals will be attending along with 25 additional industries."

The event will prove to be a platform for electronics startups to showcase their innovations and raise funds from a network of venture capital companies, promoting India's technology development.

As the government has turned its attention towards Atmanirbhar Bharat, the conference fits India's vision for long-term self-reliance in semiconductor innovation and manufacturing. Through the collaboration of industry and academic thought leaders, MeitY hopes to create a strong ecosystem that promotes technological development and sustainable growth in nanoelectronics.
