Indian Army hands over books to displaced children in Churachandpur

The Indian Army has donated textbooks to 40 internally displaced children at the MAA Foundation School in Skwatlian, Churachandpur district, Manipur, in a brilliant demonstration of humanitarian efforts. The program aims to prevent children who have been displaced by the ongoing conflict from losing access to education, which is crucial for their stability and development in the future.

The distributed textbooks span a variety of topics and are suitable for various age groups, offering the much-needed learning materials to displaced learners. With education being a central area of focus for the Indian Army's outreach activities, this move demonstrates its concern for welfare outside its security mandate. Through the provision of further learning avenues, the Army hopes to provide hope and inspiration to young learners whose lives are subject to unclear and traumatic situations.

The support of the Army reaches the Torbung Bangla Relief Camp, one of several camps that were set up for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Manipur. Thousands of households have fled into these camps owing to continued strife, and the children have suffered the most. It has been reported that more than 14,000 students in the state have been victims of disruptions to their studies in the conflict. Identifying this emergency, the Indian Army, along with other institutions, has been actively engaging to deliver crucial services, such as medical assistance, relief supplies, and education assistance.

A Ministry of Defence official emphasized the Army's unflinching dedication to peace, stability, and humanitarian assistance, providing displaced communities with much-needed assistance during these trying times. The program is part of a larger initiative to restore normalcy to affected families and enable children to pursue their education despite displacement.
