Quantum India Bengaluru 2025 Concludes with Karnataka's Vision to map the Quantum Future

The two-day event inaugural program of Quantum India Bengaluru (QIB) 2025 "Building a Quantum Ecosystem: Qubits to Society"  concluded on a successful note at the Hilton Bengaluru Embassy in Manyata Tech Park.  

The event was organized by the Karnataka Department of Science & Technology, KSTePS, and the IISc Quantum Technology Initiative (IQTI) together. The event attracted more than 1,951 participants.  More than 19 countries were represented among the 75 speakers and 37 exhibitors.

Highlights from the Key Announcements:

Vision for a $20 Billion Quantum Economy by 2035.

Launch of Karnataka Quantum Roadmap, under preparation on five pillars: Talent, R&D, Infrastructure, Industry Enablement, and Global Partnerships.

Inauguration of India's first-ever Quantum City near Bengaluru, focusing on quantum research, manufacturing, and high-performance computing clusters.

Annual institutionalization of Quantum India Bengaluru as a annual flagship summit.

Highlights:

Nobel Laureates Prof. Duncan Haldane and Prof. David Gross, and Prof. Tommaso Calarco in keynote addresses set world tone.

Inauguration of Pancharatnam Prize to recognize Indian contribution to quantum research; first awardee: Dr. R. Vijayaraghavan (TIFR).

Poster Showcase with 41 submissions, and the 4 winners received ₹20,000 each.

QIB Startup Pitch Fest, organized by TiE Bangalore, gave the Emerging Quantum Startup Award to Qosmic Satellite Systems Pvt. Ltd. for an award of ₹2,00,000.

Thematic Sessions Addressed:

Quantum Computing, AI & Finance: QpiAI, TIFR, IISc, Rigetti, Quantinuum, AWS, and others showcased applications in optimization, AI, and cloud-based quantum processing.

Quantum in Healthcare: Showstoppers were in-situ detection of ROS in brain cancer and quantum-promoted diagnostics.

Closing Remarks:

During the valedictory session, Karnataka became India's quantum launchpad once more. "This is just the beginning," stated Shri N.S. Boseraju, Hon'ble Minister for Science & Technology. "Quantum India Bengaluru will come back year after year to look back, recharge, and fulfill India's quantum aspirations."
