Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam introduced the 'HP Elevate' officers' training program for HPCL officer officials. IIMV officials said the training will be taken in 18 batches and the training will cover 580 HPCL's Visakh refinery officials. IIMV director Prof M Chandrasekhar also said that HP ELEVATE training programme has the objective of developing officers' personal and professional knowledge via robust courses on self-awareness, communication, leadership, and ethics. "This programme offers the learners high performance signature competencies, confident, resilient, and ethically motivated officers who can drive public service leadership," Prof Chandrasekhar added to that. The programme director, Dr. M.V. Anuradha, introduced the structure of the programme and how the key issues would be addressed in the course.

He emphasized the increasing importance of networking with the dynamic competitive business environment of the current times. Abhishek Trivedi, executive director, Visakh Refinery Modernization Project (VRMP), HPCL, was the chief guest and delivered the keynote address.
He pointed out the most important difference between technical capability and management responsibility, emphasizing that technical capability is specifications but to reach managerial level there should be more strategic thinking, responsibility, and leadership quality. He also talked about discipline, responsibility, and ethics as the attributes that are needed to propel organisational excellence and establish HPCL as a business segment leader. Director of IIMV Prof M Chandrasekhar congratulated HPCL for its excellent success and consistent growth on key parameters. Prof Chandrasekhar had talked about the role of the management professional as leaders to propel an organisation towards success. He said that technical competence is needed, but managerial roles require even more focused input, responsibility, and the ability to motivate and lead groups to customized goals that would fit into the bigger picture of the organization.
