The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) class 10 results are out, and it's a celebration for students across the state! This year, a record-breaking 86.31% of students passed the exams, marking a significant improvement from last year's 86.15% pass rate.

Girls dominated the results, with over 5 lakh females successfully clearing the exams compared to 4 lakh males. This translates to a 25% higher pass rate for girls.

Chandrachur Sen, a student from Cooch Behar district's Rambhola High School, emerged as the state topper with an impressive score of 693 marks (99%). Samyapriyo Guru from Purulia Zilla School secured the second rank with 692 marks (98.86%). The third position was a tie between three students: Udayan Prasad (Balurghat High School), Puspita Basuri (New Integrated Government School, Ilambazar), and Nairit Ranjan Pal (Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission), who all scored 691 marks (98.71%).

Geographically, the top performing districts showcased a spread across the state. Cooch Behar, Purulia, Dakshin Dinajpur, Birbhum, South and North 24 Parganas, Hooghly, Purba Bardhaman, Malda, and Paschim Medinipur all had students featuring among the top 10 scorers. Interestingly, Kalimpong emerged as the district with the highest pass percentage (96.26%), followed by Purba Medinipur (95.49%) and Kolkata (91.62%).

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee congratulated the students on their success. "My best wishes and congratulations to all the students who passed the secondary examination s. My congratulations to your parents and teachers. May your coming days be prosperous, I pray,"she said, extending her appreciation to parents and teachers as well.

The results also highlighted a noteworthy trend of students from outside Kolkata excelling in the exams. WBBSE president Ramanuj Ganguly commented, "The consistent trend of past years of students from other districts outperforming their peers in Kolkata in the class 10 board examination shows that educational scope and infrastructure is not confined to the metropolis and is equally available in smaller towns."

Adding a personal touch to the report, the news mentions Sushanta Sen, father of the state topper Chandrachur Sen. He revealed that his son aspires to become a doctor and never followed a rigid study schedule.
