Internship is compulsorily in Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU) and will send students as interns to NGOs, senior counsel, judges and law firms.
Summer internship programs in Tiruchi educational institutions are broadening the network of students and introducing them to a career for a longer period of time.
More than 1,500 undergraduate candidates have been chosen for the summer internship of the current year by National Institute of Technology-Tiruchi (NIT-T) from May 1 to July 31.
"This is a one-of-a-kind chance for other students of colleges to engage with the subject specialists and work along with NIT-T faculty members. The majority of the interns would be inducted into current projects and asked to assist towards problem-solving in research using our infrastructures. The fresh mind of the outside students will be an asset to NIT-T whereas the interns would gain experience concerning their future profession," a top official explained to The Hindu.

NIT-T will gain through the new perspective introduced by students from other institutes while the interns will get an idea of what they will be doing in the future," a senior official told The Hindu.
The residential programme permits the candidates to choose a faculty mentor as per their choice. The facility of the NIT-T faculty mentor must be approved. The students can pursue their internship for a minimum of four weeks to an eight-week period (without reference to the date of beginning).
Targeted internship
National College Geology Department is conducting a dedicated internship program between May 19 and May 30. The program, as per an official statement, aimed at M.Sc students, provides a good opportunity to interns to get engaged in practical research and on-field training in core geosciences disciplines such as Environmental Geochemistry, Hydrogeology, Sedimentology, Plastic Pollution, Remote Sensing, and GIS Applications, and Micropaleontology. Faculty members will guide the interns.
Summer and winter intern camps take place at the Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU). "The internship is a compulsory part of the course and the students will be tested for it. Our students intern with senior counsels, judges, law firms, as well as non-governmental organizations. Through interaction with lawyers, the interns have a first-hand experience of the profession.". If they are worth it, the same law schools or attorneys would hire the interns at graduation," said TNNLU Registrar S.M. Balakrishnan.
Mr. Balakrishnan further mentioned that TNNLU would also provide summer internships to other college students during the next year after enhancing infrastructure.
