Wang Gungwu Visiting Fellows Programme, established by Singapore's ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute, to commemorate Professor Wang Gungwu, former Chairman of the Board of Trustees, 17 years of service award.

 

The Fellows, whilst on fellowship, shall be requested to arrange for an interview with Professor Wang Gungwu, as convenient to him.

 

Fellowship Objective

The Fellowship aims to invite Scholars overseas to learn about Great Power relations worldwide and how they are practiced in Southeast Asia, such as:

 

US-China relations and how the latter transformed Southeast Asia

Asia Pacific security issues (e.g., South China Sea, China-ASEAN relations)

International/regional initiatives for economic cooperation and what choice is being offered on the table (e.g., Belt and Road Initiative and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership)

Emergence of China and its effects on Southeast Asian society

Utilization of electronic media and technology by nations for the spread of their interest and making an impact in Southeast Asian nations.

 

Eligibility Criteria

All Citizens.

Mid-career researchers, postdoctoral fellows.

Non-Ph.D. or equivalent degree researchers.

Ph.D.-less candidates must be professional with CV/Resume research interest.
